Asymptote (अनंतस्पर्शी)♾️♾️♾️

स्पर्श रेखा tangent line : दिए गए वक्र को मात्र एक बिंदु पर स्पर्श करने वाली सरल रेखा।

Tangent line: A straight line touching the given curve at only one point.

अनंतस्पर्शी: दिए गए वक्र को अनंत♾️ पे स्पर्श करने वाली सरल रेखा।

Asymptote: A straight line touching a given curve at infinity.

परिभाषा : किसी वक्र की वह स्पर्श रेखा जो मूलबिंदु से निश्चित दूरी पर हो किंतु वक्र ➰को अनंत पर प्रतिश्छेद करे, उस वक्र की अनंत स्पर्शी कहलाती है।

Definition: The tangent line to a curve➰ which is at a certain distance from the origin but intersects the curve at infinity is called asymptote of that curve.

अर्थात जब x अनंत की ओर प्रवृत्त हो तब उस स्थिति में वक्र की स्पर्श रेखा।The tangent line to the curve when x tends to infinity

अनंत स्पर्शी केवल खुले वक्रों ➿➰〰️पर ही हो सकती है बंद वक्रों पर अनंत स्पर्शी का कोई अस्तित्व नहीं होता।Asymptotes can exist only on open curves; asymptotes do not exist on closed curves.
